Rev. Eric T. Abraham

Eric T. Abraham was raised in Florence, South Carolina by his parents, Ernest, and Lila Abraham.  He attended Wilson High School and earned a full football scholarship to South Carolina State University. Eric became the Defensive Captain of the South Carolina State University footballteam. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from the South Carolina State School of Business in 2002. Two years later he earned his Master of Business Administration degree from Webster University.

Eric received Jesus Christ as his Savior when he moved to Washington, DC in the summer of 2004. He began at the University of the District of Columbia School of Law in the fall of 2004. In his first year of law school, he enrolled in Bible classes and served in prison ministry. By his second year of law school, he became President of the Christian Law Society. By his third year of law school, he was elected President of the Black Law Student Association. In 2007, he graduated with his Juris Doctor degree, and he is licensed to practice law in Maryland and Washington, DC. 

 

Eric was licensed as a minister in southeast Washington, DC by The Word of God Baptist Church in 2008. He earned his Bachelor of Theology degree from the Washington Baptist Seminary in 2011. He served as the 2010 – 2011 Student Government President for the Washington Baptist Seminary. In 2011, the Missionary Baptist Minister’s Conference of Washington DC & Vicinity organized an ordination council and authorized Eric to be ordained by The Word of God Baptist Church. Eric studied three more years to earn his Master of Divinity degree at the Washington Baptist Seminary in 2014.

 

For five years, Eric learned valuable trial experience as a criminal defense attorney at the Maryland Office of the Public Defender. In the summer of 2022, Eric used the experience he acquired to establish The Abraham Law Firm. His law firm is located in the heart of downtown Washington, DC.

 

For over 17 years, Eric served as the Young Adult Sunday School Teacher at The Word of God Baptist Church. For over 10 years, he served as the Young Adult Pastor at The Word of God Baptist Church. He also served as a Prayer Service Leader, Bible Study Teacher, and Shepherding Group Leader. Eric is guided by the steadfast tutelage of his mentor, Pastor John L. McCoy.

Eric is married to the lovely Nicole F. Abraham. Together they enjoy cooking, watching movies, traveling, football and spending time with friends. Their marriage is a natural example of how Jesus Christ loves the church, and this union has produced two beautiful children named Candace Imani and Eric II. The Holy Spirit inspires Eric T. Abraham to keep persevering so that his life can glorify his Savior and Lord Jesus Christ.
