FIRST LADY MARGARET OWENS

First Lady Margaret Owens is a native of Florida. She received her formal education in the Pasco County School System. Upon graduating from high school, she continued her education and has received numerous certifications.

First Lady Owens shares in the call of her husband to the Gospel ministry. Her southern charm is one of her greatest assets; she’s down to earth and very comfortable to be around. She has a deep passion for God’s people. Her favorite Bible passage is Romans 8:28: “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

First Lady Owens serves as the Ministry Leader of our Women’s Ministry, and presides over our Women’s Bible Discussion. She is the Assistant Director of Christian Education, working alongside the Pastor and the Director of Christian Education in rebuilding our Sunday Morning Bible School. In October 2016, she was appointed by President Charles W. McNeil to serve as president of the National Capital Baptist Convention’s Ministers’ Wives & Widows Auxiliary.

Prior to joining Liberty Baptist Church, First Lady Owens served diligently at Paramount Baptist Church in Washington, D.C. As a member, it was her privilege to serve as Director of Boot Camp and Vacation Bible School; Director of the Special Projects Committee and Drama Ministry; Coordinator of the Prison Ministry; Coordinator of the Charisma Dance Team; teach Young Adult Sunday School and Youth Baptismal Training.

She is the loving wife of Pastor Anthony E. Owens of Liberty Baptist Church; they are the proud parents of two adult children and three grandchildren.
